The exhibition of Danish fashion photographer Keane Heik-Abildhauge, who accidentally came to Russia, took up artistic photography and captured hundreds of Russians with an unusual European look. The exhibition in “Rosfoto” consists of exactly one hundred portraits, with the oldest heroine on them just a hundred years old, and the youngest character was barely born. According to the idea of the photographer, there is strictly one person for each year in the project.
For the first time, a Dane, who had experience only in advertising photography, came to Russia in 2009. He himself says that he wanted to make sure whether the Russians correspond to the stereotype of "a nation of gloomy and unfriendly people." For three years he visited many cities and tried through his works to refute the opinion prevailing in Europe.

Keen photographed those he met on the street in their usual surroundings. After shooting, he asked each hero what he was dreaming of. The result was a touching picture: a portrait of a 33-year-old firefighter from the village of Sinegorye in the Magadan Region, who dreams of photographing his daughter with a polar bear on the island of Spitsbergen, a 60-year-old carpenter from Novorossiysk who hopes to someday go on the Internet on his own, 82-year-old an excavator from the Vologda Oblast who wants to start a family, and a hundred-year-old grandmother from the village of Smolenskaya, who just wants to live.
All photos are black and white, made on a "Watering Can" and printed without further processing. After Petersburg, the photographer plans to show the exhibition in Moscow, Denmark and England. You can meet and chat with the author at the opening of the exhibition on May 25, at 18:00.
Maria Gavrilchik, curator of the exhibition: “Kin had to move to Moscow because his wife got a job here. Before that, he was engaged only in advertising and fashion photography, he had no experience in art photography. For three years he visited Russia in more than thirty places: cities , villages, suburbs - and made a fairly large number of photos, from which he then selected the 100 most reflecting his idea.Kin does not speak Russian, so the search for heroes and contracts for the shooting took place through friends, acquaintances or simply knowing English. , There are many funny situations. For example, even his last hero, who is only a year old, he found, when he went to the shooting in a nursing home. "
